BIOGRAPHY

Russian-American pianist and music educator, Tatiana Vetrinskaya, received her professional training in Piano Performance and Chamber Ensemble from the Turkmen State Conservatory (B.M., M.M.), University of New Mexico (M.M.), and the Gnesin Academy of Music (D.M.A.) in Moscow. 

Dr. Vetrinskaya’s impressive and varied artistic and educational activities include solo and ensemble performances, presentations, workshops, and master classes around the United States, Europe, Russia, and Turkmenistan. In 2017, she was invited to give master classes and performances at the numerous prestigious music events including the International Summer Piano Study in Urbino (Italy), the XXIII International Chopin’s Festival in Busko-Zdroj (Poland), Areadna Conservatory in Athene (Greece), and University of Texas in El Paso, (USA) 

Dr. Vetrinskaya has adjudicated at various national and international competitions, including the University of Texas at El Paso Piano Competition, the Sonatina Competition in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the International Rosario Marciano Piano Competition in Vienna, Austria, and Krystian Tkaczewski’s International Piano Competition in Busko-Zdroj (Poland). 

Tatiana Vetrinskaya has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras including the St. Luis Kamergild Chamber Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Albuquerque, the University of New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, and the Chamber Orchestra of Albuquerque. 

As the first recipient of a fellowship from the John Donald Robb Trust, Dr. Vetrinskaya studied the piano manuscripts of Robb, giving solo, ensemble recitals, and presentations in varied venues in the United States. 

Her featured CD albums include: Piano Compositions by John Donald Robb Pictures of New Mexico and Piano Concerto with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra as well as Russia into the Morden World, featured piano music by Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, and Scriabin. 

Dr. Vetrinskaya previously served on the music faculty of the University of New Mexico. In 2005, she founded the New Mexico School of Music, the state’s largest private music school. Her students have won numerous local, national, and international competitions.
